[ARCHIVED] 9/29/2017 - Election Commission Declares District 4 and Commissioner of Public Works Winners

The Municipal Election Commission of the city of Greenville met on Friday, September 29 in preparation for the 2017 General Election scheduled for Tuesday, November 7. Pursuant to South Carolina Code Sec. 7-13-190(E), the Commission certified and declared Wil Brasington, winner of the Republican primary, as the winner of the District 4 seat and Phillip Kilgore, unopposed in the Republican primary, as the winner of the Commissioner of Public Works seat. Both representatives were unopposed for the General Election following the filing deadline for petition and write-in candidates. Both will be sworn in on Monday, December 11 before the Formal Meeting of City Council.

Contested races for the November 7 election include incumbent Lillian Brock Flemming (D) and Matt Cotner (R) for District 2 and Russell Stall (D) and John DeWorken (R) for the At-Large seat currently held by Gaye Sprague.
