[ARCHIVED] 10/12/2015 - Greenville Zoo Asking for Carved Pumpkins to Celebrate Boo in the Zoo

Preparations for Greenville Health System Boo in the Zoo, which starts this Friday, October 16, are underway, and the Greenville Zoo staff is asking the public to donate carved pumpkins to create a special pumpkin patch for the event. Carved and decorated pumpkins can be dropped off at the Greenville Zoo ticket booth during zoo hours through October 25. Pumpkins can include LED lights as part of the design, but no candles.

Greenville Health System Boo in the Zoo will take place October 16 and 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and October 17-18 and October 24–25 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Ticket prices for zoo members are $5 for children and free for adults. Ticket prices for the general public are $6 for children and $5 for adults. Tickets can be purchased online at www.greenvillezoo.com/boo or at the zoo ticket booth.

On October 15, 16 and 17, ticket sales will end at 4 p.m. and the zoo will close at 4:30 p.m. for event set-up. On October 17, 18, 24 and 25, ticket sales will end at 2:30 p.m. and the zoo will close at 3 p.m. for event set-up.

Each night, beginning one hour before the event, Greenlink will provide a free park and ride service from County Square (301 University Ridge) to the zoo. Buses will run continuously between the two locations until 9 p.m. Attendees are strongly encouraged to utilize this free, convenient service, as parking will not be permitted on Woodland Way (from Cleveirvine Avenue to McDaniel Avenue) or Woodland Way Circle. Vehicles parked on those streets will be cited.
