Spring is in the air and the City of Greenville Parks & Recreation Department has a wide variety of youth and adult programs planned. Don't miss this chance to join in the fun and experience something new this spring!

Youth Programs

You'll find something for every child's interest on our spring programs list. Ages 3-15.

Youth Soccer


Super Summer Day Camp (June 12-August 11)
Register today for our popular 9-week summer day camp for ages 5-12. Campers will participate in arts and crafts, fitness programs, sports, music, field trips and much more. Lunch is provided daily for each camper.


Youth Soccer (March 13-April 8)
Our coed youth soccer program provides skill instruction and games for ages 3 through 10. Practices and games are held at Holmes Park. U4, U6, U8 and U10 programs are available. Please call our Athletics Division at (864) 467-8011 for more information.

Track and Field (March 13-May 7)
Lace up those running shoes and get your child involved with our Youth Track and Field program for ages 7-14. Please call our Athletics Division at (864) 467-8011 for more information.

Spring Break Camp (April 10-April 14)
Spring Break Camp is for ages 5-12 and takes place at the Bobby Pearse Community Center. Camp hours are 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m each day and campers' days are packed full of games, crafts, music and much more!

Girl Scouts
Please call the David Hellams Community Center at (864) 467-4327 or the Nicholtown Community Center at (864) 467-4330 for information about our current troops and their meeting times and locations. 

Momentum Bike Club
The Momentum Bike Club is for ages 8-14 and meets every Monday at 4:30 p.m. at the David Hellams Community Center and the Nicholtown Community Center.  

Mobi-Rec
Don't miss this unique recreation experience! Our Mobi-Rec truck is overflowing with games and activities for children of all ages, so be sure to check out our schedule and come join the fun.

Kids in the Kitchen

Program Spotlight: Kids in the Kitchen

Nicholtown Community Center's afterschool students are mixing it up in the kitchen. In partnership with the Junior League of Greenville, Kids in the Kitchen encourages kids to incorporate healthy cooking practices and provides opportunities for them to learn, grow and explore through foods from diverse cultures. Young chefs will expand their fruit and vegetable preferences and gain confidence by learning how to prepare dishes such as vegetable paella and minestrone soup.

Adult Programs

Active Adults Senior Program
For men and women age 55+. This program is sure to keep you busy. From field trips to craft days and so much more, you won't want to miss out on the fun and fellowship that this program offers.

Mark your calendar! The 10th annual City of Greenville Senior Prom presented by WellCare Health Plans is scheduled for Friday, May 19.
 
Fitness Boot Camp

Designed for all fitness levels, our boot camp focuses on flexibility and muscular strength and endurance. Classes meet 2 or 3 times per week at the Sears Recreation Center. A new 7-week session begins in March.

Community Yoga
This 8-week program takes place at the Bobby Pearse Community Center with one class per week. All levels are welcome and no previous experience is necessary. Please call the Bobby Pearse Community Center at (864) 467-4331 for more information.

Ballroom Dance (Classes begin March 9)
This is an introduction to social partnership dancing for ages 16 & up. In this 4-week progressive course, you'll learn how to lead or follow basic rhythmic steps, turns and styling for Rumba and East Coast Swing from DIVDA-certified instructors. Please call the Nicholtown Community Center at (864) 467-4330 for more information.

Adult Softball (Leagues begin March 20)
Registration is now open for coed and men's spring softball leagues. Please call our Athletics Division at (864) 467-8011 for more information.

Strong Mamas Fitness
This unique workout group is geared toward women, including moms who want to stay fit and connect with other women. The class allows participants to engage with their kids by teaching them how much fun it is to exercise and stay healthy. Classes meet weekly from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Ladies Night Out

Ladies, this one is just for you! Our ladies-only get-togethers are held the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the David Hellams Community Center. Please contact the center at (864) 467-4327 for more information.

Upstate Shag Lessons (Classes begin March 6)
Learn South Carolina's official state dance. This 4-week session is designed for beginner and intermediate dancers and classes are held at the Log Cabin in McPherson Park. Please call (864) 467-4326 for more information.
