Spring is in the air!

Spring is the perfect time of year to try something new, so why not try one of our exciting recreation programs? We offer a wide variety of programs for children, adults, and families, so check out our selection and join in! 

 
Super Summer Day Camp

Super Summer Day Camp

Help your child create lasting memories this summer! Super Summer Day Camp registration opens on Wednesday, February 21. This 9-week program runs June 18 through August 17 and is offered at each of our five community centers from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Campers will learn, play, and grow all summer long while creating new friendships along the way. Spots fill up quickly, so don't hesitate!

 

Youth Programs (ages 3-14)

Girls' Volleyball: Skills Builder (March 7-March 29)
Learn the fundamentals of the sport in a fun, friendly, and low-stress atmosphere. Offered Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and taught by a former college volleyball player and champion, this program gives girls the chance to try a new sport or simply brush up on their volleyball skills. Instructional Soccer (March 10-April 28)
Our co-ed instructional soccer program provides skill instruction and games for ages 3-5. Practices and non-competitive games are held at Holmes Park on Tuesday evenings or Saturday mornings. Sign up for the U4 program (parent/child) or the U6 program. Recreational Soccer (March 12-May 3)
Register by March 2 to secure your child's spot. For ages 6-10, this co-ed program offers a competitive, organized, and fun soccer experience. U8 and U10 divisions are available. Call our Athletics Division at 864-467-8011 for more information.

Track & Field (March 5-May 12)
Runners and throwers ages 6-14 are eligible to participate in this 9-week track and field season. Practices are held Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and track meets are held on Saturdays. Meets are scheduled to be hosted in Charlotte, NC and Columbia, SC.

Parents' Night Out (February 23 and March 23)
Register your children (ages 5-12) today and enjoy an evening out. Children will enjoy a variety of activities including games, crafts, music, and much more! Dinner and a snack are included. Space is limited! Call the Bobby Pearse Community Center at 864-467-4331 for more information.

Spring Break Camp (April 2-April 6)
Looking for a safe, organized, and exciting camp for your children while they're out of school? Then look no further! Campers ages 5-12 will spend their fun-filled days engaged in games, crafts, field trips, and other exciting activities. Camp runs from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

Adult Programs

Strictly Jitterbug by Ballroom Alchemy
Join Ballroom Alchemy on Monday evenings and dance the night away. Learn to swing dance, make new friends, and have some fun. Begins March 5. Call 864-467-4330 for more information. 

Fitness Boot Camp
Get in shape "boot camp" style! Designed for all fitness levels, this program focuses on muscular strength, flexibility, and endurance. Participants perform exercises individually and as teams. Classes begin March 6 and are held Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. at McPherson Park.

Yoga
No experience is needed and all levels are welcome for this 8-week program. Classes are held on Mondays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Bobby Pearse Community Center. Begins February 19. 

Fiction 101
Taught by local author Carol Baldwin and geared toward the serious adult or young adult who dreams of writing, this 6-week program includes lectures, writing activities, feedback, and discussion. Classes are held on Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bobby Pearse Community Center. Begins March 3.  

Active Adults Senior Program
For men and women age 55+. From field trips to craft days and so much more, you won't want to miss out on the fun and fellowship that this program offers. Meets Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the David Hellams Community Center.

Adult Softball Leagues
Register your team today! Multiple leagues are available, including Men's Church, Co-ed Recreation, and Men's Recreation. The season begins the week of March 19 and all games will be played at Gower Park.

Ladies' Night Out
Ladies, this one is just for you! Our ladies-only gatherings are held the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the David Hellams Community Center. Call the center at 864-467-4327 for more information.

Community Dance Programs
Downtown Line Dance: Tuesdays; 6:15 p.m. at Sears Recreation Center
Greenville Swing: Tuesdays; 7:30 p.m. at McPherson Log Cabin
Greenville Lindy Hop: Thursdays; 7 p.m. at Sears Recreation Center
Greenville International Folk Dance: Mondays; 7 p.m. at Sears Recreation Center
Casual Dance: Wednesdays; 7:15 p.m. at Sears Recreation Center

Senior Softball
For men and women age 55+. Join us on Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m. at Cleveland Park to meet new people, get some exercise, and most importantly, have fun!

Strong Mamas Fitness
This unique workout group is geared toward women, including moms, who want to stay fit and connect with other women. The class allows participants to engage with their kids by teaching them how much fun it is to exercise and stay healthy. The workout group is also accompanied by play dates, themed classes, and moms' nights out. Visit Strong Mamas for more information.
